I had a question regarding extending an extrusion, while keeping the end constraints intact (i.e expanding from the middle of the body). Any thoughts? Thanks!
It would be awesome if you could upload a picture or a sketch.
The goal is to leave the constraints on either end, but add in the middle to allow for a different angle for the piece at the front.
I have all my variable components like that sketch driven, that way the assembly is parametric and easy to change. There are a few different ways to approach this, however in reality it needs to be taken care of at the front end of the design process, maybe not all the part development, but an easy way to edit the assembly and add components without throwing up errors all over the place.
Attached is my workflow and how I start my designs and how I would do this component as well. I do want to say though, the way I do my design isn't the only way. There are other ways to approach it, hopefully some others will chime in....
Thank you very much for the suggestions!
