Are you looking for a way to put material sizes in the BOM.
If so, what we do is to have a column that links back to the custom
property of the part. In the part we put 2 sketches at the end of
the feature tree. These 2 sketches get relations added to the
outermost points on the part which have the X,Y & Z dimensions
for overall sizes. The dimensions then get linked back to the
custom property for size which then gets put into the BOM.
Yes you can link a dimension to the BOM - The dimension can
be from a sketch or added as an annotation dimension.
In your Part - ensure that the dimension you want to link is
visible then open the part properties from the file menu.
Under the custom tab select the property name you want to use. You
can add you own by clicking on the edit list tab.
The type will be text. Click on the value tab and then select the
dimension that you want to use. This will then link that value.
In the Drawing add a BOM right click and add a new column to the
BOM.
Select the column at the top, set the Property to custom property.
Select the property name that you used for the part.
The column will be populated with the properites that you selected.
When you are happy with the layout of your BOM select the BOM and
save it as a template to use next time.
