# how to measure arclength of multiple arcs

HI,

does anyone know of a way to measure the arclength of number of entities into one dim.

for example, an arc of 70°, 36" rad, connected to a 30° arc of 100" rad, then back to a 70°, 36" rad arc again. i know i can put each individual arc length on each arc, but does anyone know of a way to pick all three and get a total length?

You can't do it with a regular dimension, you'd have to place the individual dims, use an equation to add them, and drive a variable. Then put the individual arc length dims on a hidden layer in the drawing.

Best of luck

Or...you could combine them into a composite curve, if they are all contiguous...

Right, but then you couldn't measure them.

thanks Guys,

i knew you could do it with a equation, and then usea label or note to show up on the dwg. was just wondering if there was someone other way, like i mentioned above.

thanks again

Just to measure total length? Select arcs piece by piece holding CTRL. Tools-Measure.
