I've seen comments along these lines - I just want to confirm

You definately cannot use an existing sketch to create points for the hole wizard?
I have tried converting entities to move the pre-existing sketch points to the new sketch, no luck. Can't make hole wizard recognize the existing sketch either.

This seems like a weakness to me, many time I want to transfer a hole pattern from one part to another, can't be done using hole wizard.
