Pushing the sides in

hi all.

having a bit of trouble with a part im designing. see the image i have attached....i am planning on using a machine to push the sides of the part inward towards each other...but with a piece of metal just above the hole to stop the whole thing bending inwards. so the result should be that just the end will taper in.

could anyone offer some advice as to how to do this?
