Is there a way to specify the draft on an extrusion by the
width of the draft rather than the angle? Many times my draft angle
turns out to be some infinite decimal based on a specified width of
draft for the thickness of the part. For example, my part is 2"
thick, and requires 1" of draft, which makes my draft angle
26.5605118... degrees. Since I am limited to the number of decimal
places I can specify when entering my draft angle, my 1" draft
actually turns out to be .99980194", which can create problems down
the line when mating to existing parts, etc. Not to mention that I
first have to take the time to calculate the draft angle based on
the distance I want to achieve.
So I have to create an extrusion at 2" thick with no draft, create a sketch for a sweep cut path along the edge of the part, create another sketch as a 2" x 1" right triangle, then do a cut sweep along the path. Is there a simpler way?
It seems like these multiple steps could be eliminated by a draft-by-distance feature in the extrusion menu.
