We are using the OptisWorks Raytrace Add-In within SW for
verification of our mechanical models. Our Optical Engineer designs
in ZEMAX so our Add-In is used exclusively for comfirmation (that I
haven't messed up his optical design with my mechanical design). We
had been leasing the lighting add-in as well but are not currently.
The software licensing is changing and some of the functionality as well so I thought now would be a good time to revisit the other add-in packages. Is anyone using any of the SW partner or any other software that is interactive within a 3D environment? I'd prefer not to have to export iges files for analysis in a seperate software (we can do that in ZEMAX now).
I would say that I have been happy with OW up to the 08 release but there have been a few glitches coordinating with SW. North American technical support has been good as well. I just think it's best to know my options.
