I am running SP2.0 and I am now trying to upgrade to SP3.1.
After reading some helpful hints in this forum about getting around
the HUGE file sizes when using the automatic upgrade feature, I
downloaded just the SW 2.0 to 3.1 file. The problem is when I
perform the upgrade, the software is looking for the file
"English_i386_Solidworks.msi". I found the file on the original
DVD, but for some reason, the software doesn't like it. Does anyone
have any thoughts, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for the
help.
I just wanted to give an update on this issue. To your point, when doing the upgrade, the software is looking for the last (not the orignal) SP version of the "English...msi" file. In my case, earlier in the week, I was doing some house cleaning on my hard drive any figured I didn't need the old SP files anymore and deleted them (you know, the ones in the "C:/SWDist" folder. They take up alot of space.). Fortunately, they were still in the recycle bin. I restored them and the upgrade worked fine.
