I finally found some information from SWx regarding routing!
Found it in the Knowledge Base.
It's not new and it does not refer to SWx 2008 but I thought I would post it here because it gave me a few ideas. For the most part, the document is still relevant to the process in 2008.

The document you found is great, but did you know that there is also Routing Help provided with the SolidWorks software? I'm not sure if people just can't find it, or if they don't think it's helpful.
To get to the Routing Help:
1. Open the SolidWorks Help. (On the menu bar in SolidWorks, click Help and select SolidWorks Help from the drop-down menu.)
2. In the Help window, in the left panel, go to the Contents tab. (If the left panel is hidden, click the Show button.)
3. "SolidWorks Routing" is about three quarters of the way down the list.
4. Click the plus signs to expand the folders and browse through the help topics.
To get an idea of the workflow for each type of route, see the General Procedure topic in each of these folders: Pipes and Tubes, Electrical Cables, and Harnessing.
If you have any suggestions on how to make Routing help easier to find, or comments or suggestions about the help itself, please post them here.
Thanks,
Joan
