i am a relative newbie to solidworks and so far it's been
good however now
i have a shaft with a bellcrank operating a linkage that i would like to animate.
when i apply a rotary motor to the shaft all it does is ocscillate back and forth a few degrees.
i have changed the numeric value from 0 to 360 deg/s with no change.
this is very frustrating since i can manually turn the shaft and the linkage operates properly.
can anyone help? it would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Can you attach a snapshot/image of your motor definition (ie in the property manager) or attach the model to the post? It's easier to review by looking at what you have.
A few things to double check:
Motor is actually on the shaft
Motor type is constant speed (not oscillating or distance)
One other aspect if you're using 2008, is that depending where the current frame position is on the timeline, when you modify an entity like the motor, you are defining the properties at that time position. The program interpolates between the keypoints where you specify the properties of each entity.
To be more specific in answering, you need to specify if you're using COSMOSMotion, Animator, or Physical simulation as well, and the version of SolidWorks. You may not that many people have a signature listing their version of SolidWorks etc, so that when they make posts, it is automatically known what they're using.
Cheers,
Ian
