Somebody know if there is any problem to install and run SW
2008 on an Intel Core Extreme processor?...
I'm trying to install SW 2008 on my new computer and it just goes to reboot each time I try install SW2008.
This is my hardware profile:
Processor: Intel Core Extreme @ 3Ghz
Memory: OCZ DDR3 Memory 4 GB
SATA HDD 500GB
Windows XP SP2
Solidowrks 2008 SP0.0 or SP3 (Neither works)
Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 Video card.
(I did a Bios Update available by Intel)
I will appretiate any help,
Thanks.

I did the installation of sw2007 and everything works perfect,
before a bios update what I did to the BIOS it wasn't working neither,
after the update sw2007 works fine, but I'm interested on sw2008.
Maybe it has something to do with the registration info SW wants to write in the starting sectors of your harddrive (the changed policy regarding the hardware lock). Maybe your mainboard recognizes this as virus activity and prevents this by restarting the system, try it with "bootblock protection" or something like that disabled in your BIOS setup.....
As a reference you could try SW2007 and then servicepack 4 or higher, these should also use the registration info on HDD.

1) right-click My Computer
2) select the Advanced tab
3) choose Settings under the Startup and Recovery section
4) uncheck Automatically Restart
5) check Write an event to the system log
6) try to install SW2008 and capture the BSOD if that is what you get
7) check your Event viewer for error entries around the time of the crash (probalby under System log)
Sorry Guys,
for don't have a response before,
Thanks everybody for your help,
I found the problem,
Here is the solution for this problem:
I get a full list of my hardware getting installed to this computer:
MotherBoard: Intel DX38BT
Powersource: Corsair HX620W.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Extreme (Quad) 12 MB Cache.
VideoCard: NVidia Quadro FX 4500
Memory: OCZ DDR3 1800 1.9v
HDD: Barracuda 7200, 500 GB SATA
DVD/CD Memorex RW.
Monitor, not relevant here.
for the start I knew the Motherboard was really special on specs and came with some problems, I made a BIO Upgrade but the problem never get solved.
I start checking for more detailed specs on the motherboard and I spoke with somebody on Intel support, who told me to be carefull on the hardware what I'm installing here, so I get a full list of the compatible hardware what I compared later.
Simple, the problem was the memory, OCZ Memory uses 1.9v, Intel motherboard is able to send 1.5v to the memory.
Then, Problem solved, i hope this can help somebody on the future.
Thanks again guys.
