M-90 Video Issues

I have a M90 running SolidWorks 2008 with a NVidia Quadro FX 2500M with 512 mb of ram. I have the latest SW Approved driver 6.14.11.5619. I am running SP2.1 on SW and I have 4 Gb of ram. I also have the 3D settings to Dassault SolidWorks. I have uninstalled the driver and re installed with norton turned off. I ran Dell diagnostics and they came back passing. I am baffled. I have attached a couple of pictures to show everybody what it is doing, not very good pics but it shows what it's behavior is like.

My issues are while working in SW I my part disappears, only parts of it does and once it does this it gets real slow on zoom in and zoom outs.

Anybody seen this kind of behavior?

The picture on top is definitely a graphics problem, but the one on the bottom looks strangely familiar.

A month ago I was also using an older laptop with a graphics card that used to work fine with SolidWorks and RealView, and all of a sudden with SW08 the performance with RealView got very bad. At one point my model crashed, and the file was corrupted, looking very much like the lower image. I sent it to SW and they said it was hosed. I had to rebuild the model to correct the display problem.

So I guess the question is, have you crashed after using RealView recently?

  I haven't crashed lately, I am really surprised. This happens to every model I have. If I go into the model and start changing sketches and features, this happens. It does seem to be worse on the larger size files though. In fact this model, was converted from 2007 and I just started working on it to make some more changes. This is a prototype part. I just can not really nail it down to what is happening here.

On Pic number two, check any odd fillet areas, I have seen this where fillets try and turn on themselves with odd convergence areas, basically reversing surface normals. Possibly if you roll back one step at a time you will find this offending fillet more easily

  I have a M90 with FX1500M and have gotten also some strange things.
  
  With a from SW2007 converted assembly it happened that Solidworks 2008 SP2.1 seemed to stop responding. After some trying back and forth it seemed that something was wrong with a subassembly. All windows with the troublesome subassembly and higher level assemblies stopped rendering. The model still rotated and zoomed, also the edge highlight functioned (visible through red lines and dots that stayed on screen, superimposed over the still screen....). I was (often) able to open the model and work with it, and time after time it stopped responding in the desribed windows (other open windows with unaffected parts and subassemblies stayed functional). After some fiddling I removed some configurations and suppressed mates from the suspected subassembly and since then everuthing is dandy.... Somewhat long and maybe not very clear story, but maybe it looks like part of your problem??
  
  Furthermore I have a problem that the application profile that the Nvidia driver v156.19 for Solidworks uses is not completely correct. The settings for the unified backbuffer and maximize texture memory are incorrect (unified backbuffer is 'off' and maximize texture memory is 'on'). This results in the 'Geforce'-behavior of Solidworks (it stops hardware accelerating windows after opening a lot of windows) ie Solidworks gets very - veeeerry slow..... After setting the unified backbuffer to on and maximize texture memory to off (game settings....) my laptop responds normally and it seems my SW2008 troubles are over......

    Hello all,
    
    Small correction, it seems that the application profile settings do not affect the backbuffer and maximize texture memory settings, when these settings are changed in your base profile, they stay that way in the Solidworks profile....

      Folks, I uninstalled SolidWorks, reinstalled the software, so far so good everything seems to be working at this point. I will keep reply if things mess up again. I tried each and everyone of your ideas and I think I got it.
