I am looking in to purchasing some new workstations and i am wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not we would benefit from having a Core2 Duo vs. a Core2 Quad. The two processors I am interested in are these:

Core2 Extreme QX6850 (3.0GHz/1333MHz/2X4MB L2) --- Quad Core

Core2 Duo E6850 (3.0GHz/1333MHz/4MB L2) --- Dual Core

Does Solidworks take advantage of the Quad?

I could save upto $900 on each machine if I get the Dual Core.
