    Importing Adobe Illustrator files.

      There is a signficant difference between vector graphics and bitmap graphics, which is why you can't import bitmaps into SW. Vector graphics are equation based, just as SW sketches are. Bitmaps are thousands of points (or more), and I don't think you want a sketch of thousands of points. If you work with vector files in AI (I believe wmf is one type) instead of bitmaps, you should be able to import because the vectors are just curves.

      In this case, it is a matter of practicality for the software rather than just show. Coding to translate the vectors is probably 100 times easier than bitmaps.
