Last year we switched to SW from an ACIS based solid modeling
program. I have generally always exported to .sat files to get to
other programs since that was the native base format of that
program. I generally had few problems getting to SW, Wildfire, etc
with this approach.
I am now having constant problems with opening .sat files (v12) with SW2008. Usually SW crashes instantly when trying to open them. I have taken several of these files and opened them in SE and PowerShape and they open fine.
I would just use parasolids, but have had problems with that exporting from the other program correctly.
Does anyone else have the same problem or have any suggestions on how to get this to work?
Addendum to this post. I just tried a file that crashed SW2008 every time. SW2007 opened it fine. There appears to be a problem with SW2008 opening ACIS .sat files.
