im drawing a modem and need help with mating the planes of the pcb board and the new part that is the case as my teacherasked me so. im really new so struggling with basic things.HELP
I would suggest at least going thru the Solidworks Tutorials. They are pretty good at the basics...
I have an assignment due in 2 days and need to know how to movw past this so i can start the case
This is very general because your question is short on details or picture or file.
In Assembly, zoom into 2nd part face you'll be using. Select reference plane of PCB board from feature tree. Hold CTRL. Select face of other part. (Release CTRL) In Assembly Tab, click Mate. Default mate should be coincident if no other constrains suggest otherwise. Click OK.
You can skip the Mate command from ribbon by hitting coincident icon in pop-up after selecting two mate-able entities. If the pop-up disappears quickly when your mouse moves away, put you mouse back to near where it was and hit CTRL to bring it back.
If not using a reference plane or other feature select-able from Feature Manager Tree, then you will have to navigate to select both faces without clicking other stuff. That itself can be very challenging without a 3D Mouse.
This is in tutorial. Hope it helps you.
