Why it it that I can never get an accurately populated cut list? There are always parts not categorized with similar parts, lengths missing, and descriptions missing. I just don't understand....
I think, Shane, if you create the entire 3d sketch as a sketch and then add your weldments you will find your weldment cut list more accurate.
You mean using one single 3D sketch. That's how I used to do it but it acts really buggy. I changed my workflow to this due to that reason. Also in the past when i was doing it that way i still had these same weldment issues
are you using extrudes?
did you make the profiles yourself?
I did make the profiles myself, they are saved into the weldment profiles folder with the system defaults. When I created them I took an existing profile, edited it to reflect my desired changes and used "save as". I do not use extrudes. These are all weldments created by the structural member command.
I am not able to open the file, is there anyway you could post screen shots?
Sometimes it gets a lot more jumbled than this. Sometimes it wont let me edit the text in the "value/text expression" column so I can't even manually repair things. Other times, I type an expression and click out of the cell into another and the "evaluated value" follows over to the cell I clicked into and any cell I click until i hit "OK". That last instance, the changes don't save, but it makes it difficult to edit more than one cell at a time without closing the Cut-List Properties.
After every change you need to update your cutlist, maybe you did.
Yes, actually this is a part very similar to an existing one that I have so I just made it outright, no changes necessary. The Automatic creation of cutlists and auto update is always on unless I run into this type of situation, in which I have to manually edit them. I'm getting kind of bored with re-arranging an "automatic" cutlist for all 8-10 different types of walls across 8 different size busses.
still haven't figured this out, might call my var today
In 2015 it was not rare to have to nudge the auto update of the cut list for it to actually update.
Haven't seen it needed yet in 2016 but then again, I haven't used weldements much as of yet.
