    batch process

      I have a bunch of files in Inventor 2008 that I would like to convert over to SW 2007. I really don't have the time to open each file and perform a 'saveas'...is there a batch process conversion macro out there?

          Use the Task Scheduler.

          By the way, what are you, Elise Moss, doing on a SolidWorks forum? Switching teams?

              Import STEP File  Example from SW API help(VB6)

              This example shows how to import a STEP file using  the IImportStepData  interface.

              ' Precondition: C:\Test\Part1_203.STEP exists.

              ' Postconditions: C:\Test\Part1_203.STEP is imported into SolidWorks.

              Option Explicit

              Sub main()

              Dim swApp As SldWorks.SldWorks

              Dim Part As SldWorks.ModelDoc2

              Dim boolstatus As Boolean

              Dim longstatus As Long, longwarnings As Long

              Set swApp = Application.SldWorks

              Dim importData As SldWorks.ImportStepData

              Set importData = swApp.GetImportFileData("C:\Test\Part1_203.STEP")

              ' If ImportStepFile::MapConfigurationData is not set, then default to

              ' the environment setting swImportStepConfigData; otherwise, override

              ' swImportStepConfigData with ImportStepFile::MapConfigurationData

              ImportData.MapConfigurationData = True

              Set Part = swApp.LoadFile4("C:\Test\Part1_203.STEP", "r", importData, longstatus)

              End Sub
