Here is a particularly humorous error message. Not really asking for help with it just made me chuckle when i read it so figured i would share!
Just means that the planes aren't parallel
They're probably off of parallel by something like 0.00001°.
They are indeed. The fact they don't report that many significant digits in their errors makes it humorous when they're saying they're not parallel they are 0 degrees apart.
I get that when working with imported parts from one specific vendor in my assemblies. Too bad it's the central item which I'd otherwise define things from. So I've seen that error, and worked around it a few times.
When mating to a flawed model (without correcting someone else's imported bodies), I find it useful to create reference sketches where needed, like foot face sketch with mounting holes (center point of circle needed, otherwise constructed a diameter with midpoint).. and then only distance mate to points, where I'd normally mate to a face , reference plane, or axis.
Not a fix, but a kludge.
Thats exactly what I have going on. Dealing with an Imported body thats a central piece of equipment in my system. Going to be routing a lot of pipe to and from this imported body so lets hope this error doesnt cause too many problems there.
