    Need porosity values for auto radiators.

      Anyone have porosity values for an automotive radiator for use inFloWorks? I am not set up to make the measurements myself and can'tseem to find anything in the web.

          Hi Chris,

          Here is the data for an all aluminium radiator, dual row, made by Bell Intercoolers:

          Porosity: 0.73

          Permeability type: Unidirectional

          Resistance calculation formula: Pressure Drop, Flowrate, Dimensions

          Pressure drop vs. flowrate: Volume Flow Rate

          CFS - lbf/sq ft
          0 - 0
          1 - 0.250
          2 - 0.905
          3 - 1.966
          5 - 5.306
          10 - 20.757

          Length: 3 in

          Area: 44 sq in

          Here is the data for a condenser, with no tabulators on the fins:

          Porosity: 0.74

          Permeability type: Unidirectional

          Resistance calculation formula: Pressure Drop, Flowrate, Dimensions

          I do not have the data for an oil cooler, but I estimate it to be about half the resistance of a condenser.
