ePDM Dispatch copying files, can I control references?

As part of our convoluted workflow... I'm making a copy of our prototype files as they move into production. Sort of a 'fresh start' in the Production workflow, and it maintains a copy of the old file, complete in the prototype/project stage.  Nothing personal, but please don't suggest I change the workflow, been there tried that, decisions above my head.

I had everything working nicely, until I tossed in a drawing file.  Now the user needs to enter the new filename twice and reconnect the drawing to the newly named model file.  I suspect this will also happen with assemblies (not yet tested).  I'm posting my Dispatch below for reference.  I'm guessing I either need to open & reference the newly named file manually, or do some voodoo that can automagically replace the referenced file names.

I can probably sort out the single file name entry, but the file reference will be the hurdle to automate.

Thoughts, links, and bit-o-code are welcome!
