How to maintain mates across configurations?  Tricky question.

We have pieces of wood, which mate to aluminum extrusions

There are many types of aluminium extrusions.

But basically the same piece of wood.

I want to make an assembly with the wood mated to 20 different aluminum extrusions.

Like in the image attached.

Does anyone know a clever way to do this???

I could suppress the mates, and re-mate to the new extrusion's faces in each configuration.

But really hoping there's a better way.
