How to hide wire marks so they do not appear next to wires?

So, I've moved from Hydraulics to electrical systems, and am encountering some new challenges. I've managed to work through most of it but I've got a bit of an annoyance...

Since wire numbers are critical, we use 90% manual wire numbering, and the Wire Tag variable does exactly what we need it to do - place the wire number on the symbol near the connection point to which the wire is attached.

That's great, exactly what I want, and everyone is happy.

Until I use the automatic numbering tool to add the last few wire numbers ------ it then places wire numbers approximately 1/8" away from the already existing, perfect, exactly what I want wire numbers...

As you can see, the added numbers are redundant.

How do I remove the wire marks so that only the tags are used?

I'll be honest - I thought this was a simple question and would be answered right away. It seems like this is pretty much common sense - show the number or not. But after 90 minutes of searching I have nothing. Can't find the menu option anywhere, starting to doubt whether this common sense feature even exists.

BUT I DID FIND A LAZY, HALF-A** SOLUTION.

Project > Configurations > Font
Under "Wire Number" in the bottom section, change text height to 0.0000000000000001.
This will effectively hide the numbers.

If anyone out there has a real solution that doesn't feel like duct tape, I'm all ears.

  You should be able to remove any wire marks you don't want by clicking on them and pressing 'delete'. This does not delete the information of the wire mark, just it's visibility on the page.
  
  Also, you can right click on the line and use the 'Show/hide wire marks' option in the right click menu.
  
  You can also use the pick box to move the mark where ever you want it if you only want the marks to be someplace else.

    I did find both of these options, but no global option.
    
    The problem is this - I manually enter 900 wire numbers, and that single manual entry for each wire puts the wire numbers into the symbols where I want them.
    
    If I am then going to click one button that subsequently requires me to delete two wire marks per wire, or 2000 wire marks, that isn't much of an advantage over just manually marking the last 100 wires to begin with.
    
    I think my duct tape job above is working satisfactorily as a global 'remove wire marks' option...but a check box would just 'feel' better.

      I see. I think that's going to have to be an enhancement request. It has very likely never occurred to the developers that we might not want the wire marks to show up in the drawing after we number the wires. It would also be nice to have an option that tells the program to dump the wire tag symbols into the drawing rather than the wire marks. I like to use the tags so I can include more information about the wire, but this requires me to do similar extra work to yours by hiding the marks and showing the tags.
      
      For as much as they advertise this as a faster easier cad program, there sure is a lot of extra work involved if you don't follow the workflow and design style the developers made for you.

        I agree. I've run into similar roadblocks as well. Perhaps what I think of as common sense is simply what I'm used to. I suppose you're right - if you're going to number the wires, then hide the numbers, that might seem counter-intuitive as far as the developers were concerned.
        
        Wire lists and BOM's alone make the software worthwhile to me. I'll put up with this stuff to get those incredibly powerful and useful features. What I haven't found yet (nor have I looked into it that closely) is whether I can manually populate wire list tables with lengths.
