Is solidworks compatible with CATIA files?
Sometimes I don't think CATIA is compatible with CATIA files. You will have to have a translator to import the CATIA file into Solidworks. Of course it becomes a "dumb solid" losing all the parametric design information. I've had good experience with a reasonable priced translator from a company named 3D-Tool Link: 3D-Tool | 3D and 2D CAD Viewer and Converter they offer a time limited demo. Others are available as well, perhaps from your Solidworks VAR.
well, in 1997, Dassault Systèmes S.A. (Catia) bought SolidWorks,...
Please SW Corp...I really want to hear the OFFICIAL convoluted response.......?
Oh,.. please also throw in why your competitors offer a free translator but you don't?
There is a plug-in to open CATIA files in SW, it is certified "Gold Product" by SOLIDWORKS.
