Today, we are using 2015 SP5 for SolidWorks and PDM. I was just wondering if any one has the PDM Office Add-in enabled? If so, have you experienced any instabilities with Office? I have had plenty of reports from my users telling me, after EPDM had been installed, darn near anything could make their office document crash. If I turn the Add-in off, everything is fine. One thing to note, generally these files live on the network, and they are larger documents that have some intelligence in them.
I don’t do a lot of work in Office, but I am about to see what I can find out. Thought I would see if I could pick any of your brains.
BTW…Office 2013 or 2016 experience the same thing.
I know that we have issues with MS Office 2016, no problems with the add-in for 2010. The work around is not having the add in active. People have to check in, check out, etc from windows explorer. There apparently isn't a solution, hopefully they fix it soon.
