Have a model that was brought in to Visualize as an FBX file and it has a plane running through it that I want to remove but cannot figure out how to do it, any suggestions appreciated.
I haven't tried this but you should be able to make the floor turn into water. Isn't that what you're after?
That may be an option, I did figure out that I could just move the model off the plane in that way it would not appear.
You can snap to the floor but then the ship would look like it was on top of the water
To delete the plane, enable your blue Part selector from the Main Toolbar, click on the desired part (should be outlined in blue) and then simply hit delete.
You can later then add a plane in Visualize by clicking Project > Create Model > Plane. You can then use some of the pre-made appearances in the Visualize Cloud Library to add the water texture. There are also a couple pre-made projects that already have an environment and scene set up for boats in the Cloud Library > Projects section. Just make sure you select "Yes" to merge the projects together after you drag/drop one of these pre-made water scenes into your Viewport.
Nice looking model!
That's fantastic, thanks for the tutorial.
So I am making headway on this. I have taken your suggestion on using the Ocean project to merge with mine but due to policy restriction here I cannot get the project in the Visualize interface so I downloaded the file from the website but there is no .svjp project file. or any other file that opens in visualize. What am I missing?
Did you try downloading from this link? This does in fact download an . SVPJ for you to merge into your existing boat Visualize project. Click the download button and then open the .SVPJ
