I am trying to run finite element analysis in ANSYS with a structure that was imported from NX to SolidWorks. The structure works in SolidWorks, but when I try to import it into ANSYS, the parts won't mesh due to some parts having zero volume geometry. I can't tell which parts have "zero volume" without going through and individually running FEA on each part, which will take a lifetime to finish. It's very interesting that parts with very specifically engineered geometries will show up as having no volume after import. Is there a quick way to reassign the correct volume to parts?
Could you export your FEM to Ansys 'deck'? Right click on the FEA case and select 'Export'. At least then you should have the same mesh.
