HelloYou can do calculations in the property tab, as show in the picture ????
If possible as I do to the equation work?
é possível fazer cálculos no property tab , como demonstra a imagem ????
Se for possível como eu faço para a equação funcionar?
I would build an equation and then name a custom property after it, so that it would automatically populate for use where you decide to display this information.
I am bringing this back up as I am now starting to learn how to use the PTB. In my start templates I have a couple of equations that calculate the paint required based on the surface area and mill thickness and then truncate the paint value and the weight of the part. These equations create global variables that are used for custom properties. This is good for new parts but not so good if I add those properties to an existing part without the equations in it.
You seem to be inferring that I can create an equation and give it a custom property name, then enter it through the PTB. Could you elaborate this for me as I have not been able to figure out how to do this?
Would you mind sharing your template with me?
Without having the equation in the existing parts, it shouldn't work. I think that makes sense right?
That was what I was thinking but the information I saw above made me wonder.
I'm just thinking... I think you are trying to control the global variable equation by the custom properties, yes?
If so, as stated above that would need to be added to existing. You may be able to write a macro to have the equations created.
With the information presented in the custom properties, what are you going to do with it?
What is your end result?
The macro mention is probably going to be the answer to this in the end but I was hoping to not have to go to that.
Currently we have been either entering the paint description, paint number and the paint qty by hand. If this is entered as a dummy part and entered automatically to the BOM we get the Qty of 1, or however many paints we add. The MRP entry lady does not like this. Or we add a couple of rows to the BOM manually and manually enter the information giving the possibility of an incorrect part number and a SWAG for the qty. I have a general table saved that can be placed at the bottom of the BOM that will call the paint information if it is in the properties. This all works good for new parts but I have no method of creating the equations if I am updating an existing part. I was hoping to be able to put something in the Property Tab Builder I am beginning to think a macro is going to be our answer.
