In SW 2016 SP3.0 how can I reposition the sectioning text?
Used to be able to the drag the text to a new location in SW2015 but now it doesn't work.
The answer is to click and hold down somewhere in the blue circle:
then drag it to a new location.
Using SW2016 SP3, works for me exactly as it has in previous versions. Just grab the text and move it.
What "Base section view standard" are you using (in settings>document properties)?
Try a complete shut-down re-boot. Sounds like it could be a video card problem.
That what I wrote in my question that I tried to drag to a new location but it doesn't work.
I'm using ISO as the base section view standard.
shut down didn't do it either.
Edwin, my reply above was to let you know that it is working for me just as it should. This is to let you know that it isn't a universal SW bug (or should I call them features).
I use the ANSI standard. I just changed to the ISO standard and I can still freely move the text. I don't know what it specifically could be in your case. I hope someone can reply with a suggestion that works and we all can learn something new (or at least another work-around).
I've got several files like these. I tried it on a brand new file and it actually does work thought SW does not report any errors. So it's got to be file specific. I've sent the sample file to my VAR.
To see if it is system related, have you tried this behavior on multiple files? Is this section view created in SW2016 or some older version like SW2012?

If everything is working correctly, just click on the letter, hold and drag, then release the mouse button. If this isn't working, please contact your VAR to assess your situation and file a bug, if necessary.
I've had this problem intermittently since SW2007, I'm now using SW2016 and it still happens from time to time. My only workaround so far is to click somewhere near the section letter, not directly on it.
Yes, it is very much 'hit or miss'!. It might take 20-30 clicks or more before finding exactly where the section letter is 'active'. It can be anywhere around the vicinity of the section letter.
There used to be an issue where it was more difficult to select and move the section view letters. This was resolved a few releases ago. If you are still experiencing this issue, please contact your VAR and have them look into what's going on. If there is a bug, they will file a service request for you (file the bug).
One click on the line or arrow then grab the letter works for me
