Hi there, i'm doing a reaearch project regarding sub-marines and such. More or less i'm attempting to see deformations in parts under uniform pressure (water pressure at different depths). The issue i keep having is simulation is pretty hell bent on making set a fixture or bond of some kind. Kind of negates me attempting to see uniform pressure
How should i go about this?
Picture a sphere or a hotdog shaped cylinder that would be pressurized from all external surfaces
Does checking the "Use soft springs to stabilize model" box allow you to do what you want?
I can't say whether or not this setting will adversely affect the accuracy of your simulation results, but it may get it to at least run. I just ran a quick test on a sphere and it threw up a warning about large displacements, but it ran with that setting on. You could also try fixing a very small split in the surface, just to give it something rigid to work around.
