I am trying to use a cosmetic thread to represent an external thread that is not in the default ANSI/ISO lists (.664-32)
I am able to use a cosmetic thread pretty well to do this, using a 'None' standard and a custom Thread Callout calling my thread, pitch, and class. However the skin that appears on the model (AKA, the shaded cosmetic thread) does not have anywhere near the correct pitch (turns per inch or TPI) so it looks way off visually. Is it possible to adjust the pitch of this cosmetic image? I prefer to avoid needing to do a helix or a revolved pattern to represent the thread since for computation performance purposes
Thanks
I'm wondering if it would help to use the screw thread from the appearances. You could assign what you want as a cosmetic thread just hide or don't make it visible then add the appearance to the face. Now you can adjust the pitch to whatever you like by dragging the rectangle..
