Good Day,
Is it possible to put a fillet on an assembly to illustrate a weld?
Please see the image below.
I don't think it is a good idea to create weld beads for simulation but you should specify that in the simulation itself.
If you still need those, then you can create a new part and built weld bead in there using sweep or other methods.
The assembly too big, it would take long use sweep.
I would consider modelling the welds as separate parts in the context of the assembly. You can then set up your 'bonded' contacts accordingly to make it work as a weld would.
its up to you.
If you want to see the stress on the weld , create fillet or use sweep for creating weld bead.
If its not important my suggestion save assembly as part and use combine features for welding parts.
Hi, I cannot create a fillet in 2 different parts on an assembly.
The assembly is too big for sweep feature.
I want the weld to help with stress distribution to avoid edge stress.
I may please explain the last part.
yes it will take a lot. Maybe you can use symmetry boundry condition.
However you can only examine the critical area so this can reduce your preperation and calculation time.
Edge weld definition needs surface. You have to define some surfaces for creating weld connector.
More power to you
Thanks to you all.
All your views can work. But I decided to save the assembly as a part,
and the I combined the part, then I was able to put the fillet feature.
