I created a hole pattern from points. I want to delete some holes from this pattern. I tried by deleting the point to which the particular hole is associated. This didn't work as the hole remained with a rebuild error. How is a hole deleted from a pattern of holes?
i didnt find out about that feature till recently. it is AMAZING.
are you referring to a pattern created by "Sketch Driven Pattern"? If this is the case the Instance to Skip isn't available. Are you able to post the part here?
That should not be happening. The hole should not be generated if the sketch point no longer exists.
Have you shown this to your VAR?
EDIT: It depends how you are creating the hole pattern.
If you manually place a hole point on a previously created sketch point, and then delete a sketch point after the holes are created, the problem you describe exists.
If you use the Sketch Driven pattern option, the problem does not exist.
I deleted the original points I created and started over. I will keep your suggestions in mind for the next time. I am new to SolidWorks so I am learning. Thank you for your replies.
Did you try to select the ID of the hole and suppress the ones you don't want??
seems like for me the pattern disappeared after i made it. Now i am able to delete points by themselves instead of modifying the pattern.
In the pattern property manager, use "instances to skip".
