In an assembly, if you do a component pattern, say 7 components, is it possible to have the middle component be a different one somehow?

I've got one rod, evenly spaced 7 times using component pattern.  But the middle rod needs to be a shorter length one.

There is no "replace component" available for the parts patterned

And "skip instance" will also skip the other 4 things I'm patterning at the same time.
