Newbie user here. First time Forum participant.
Having some serious trouble with Solidworks. I can't seem to delete anything from my models!
When I select something from the screen or from the feature manager, right-click and select Delete (or hit the Delete key) nothing happens. Then, Solidworks locks up - clicking in a window gives an error ding. Nothing else can be done until you press the escape key.
What's going on? Aggghh!

Seems like there is a confirmation window hiding behind the screen. Can you press Alt + Tab to see if there is any pop up behind SW screen.

That is my guess also. The window is off the screen.
Hit the Windows key, and an arrow key at same time until the window appears.
Thank you ALL for your helpful suggestions. After a good night's sleep, I too thought of the missing dialog window problem. I recreated the behavior (with a visible delete dialog window) on my machine at home. So, I worked it out on my machine this morning. BTW, my delete dialog had truly disappeared; not Ctrl-Tab or Taskbar fixes this time. After some Googling and reading other forums, I learned two things: First, this has been an issue for a LONG time over many SW versions.
Second, I found a solution that worked for me (for now):
1) In your Display Settings, simply switch the two displays from left to right and right to left. Hit apply.
2) Start SW and, in my case, delete something. The delete dialog should now be visible. Hit return to delete the part (not sure if this is necessary). You can Ctrl-Z your deleted item back, or choose not to save your work.
3) Back in Display Settings, put your screens back the way you like them. You're done.
