Saving a Render

I have tried the Microsoft BMP option, as was suggested on someones site, at 300 dpi, but when i open it inside photoshop it says it is only 72dpi which limits how i can scale the image. How do i get a true 300dpi or greater file to be saved and have it recognize as 300dpi or whatever is inside of photoshop? what options do i need to select and set inside the save render box? any help would be great. Thanks.

Jeff
