I have tried the Microsoft BMP option, as was suggested on
someones site, at 300 dpi, but when i open it inside photoshop it
says it is only 72dpi which limits how i can scale the image. How
do i get a true 300dpi or greater file to be saved and have it
recognize as 300dpi or whatever is inside of photoshop? what
options do i need to select and set inside the save render box? any
help would be great. Thanks.

In PS, you need to take into account both the dpi and the document size. It very well could be 300 dpi when it was written from PW but when opened in PS, the document size has expanded 3X (document size and resolution are inversely proportional.) If this is the case, make sure that "resample Image" is uncheck and change the resolution to 300 dpi. Chances are, it then will match the image output size of PW.
Compare the total pixel width and height between PW and PS. Take a look at the image size in PS, chances are that it is much larger than when written out of PW. For instance: If saved from PW at 300 dpi and image size is 8x5 inches, the total pixel count will be 2400x1800. If it comes into PS as 72dpi, check the document size, I'll bet it is something like 31x23 inches.
