Can anyone guide me how to model parabolic leaf spring in solid works. as we all know it is having variable thickness at different places. I am facing difficulties to model it. I also need developed length of it.
You are more likely to get help if you post more specific information about the geometry you are trying to create.
I Don't have the *.sldprt file, that is what I am trying to make. what I have is 2D drawing of it and I am creating the CAD geometry according to dimensions. but once I make it through loft, after that I am not able to find its develop length and diamond cut at both ends.
Can you attach the *.sldprt file of your initial attempt?
Why loft? Looks like it can be done with extrusion.
You won't get SW sheet metal to develop flat because it is not uniform thickness. You will need to find other means.
Like Roland said, use the side sketches and extrude the leafs.
Better yet, get rid of the awful leafs all together and switch to air bags, torsion springs, or coil springs. It's 2016. Leaf springs are for horse carriages and low priced trailers.
