I am using SW2014 SP5.
The dimension edit box has the "Reverse the sense of the dimension" button to flip the side the dimension references. Is there such a thing for a dimension that is set equal to a global variable?
I have a complex set of sketches that I would like to copy to another plane and then reattach the dangling entities. The problem is that the "reverse" button is missing from the dimension edit box for those set equal to a global variable. Right now I have to either delete and recreate the dimension or set it to driven (through the "OTHER" tab of the dimension property because is vanishes from the RMC menu) and then unset it after the change. Neither is a very efficient method particularly since the "reverse" button works so well on regular dimensions.
Thanks,
Daen
Hi Daen,
If you are looking to copy the sketch and have it maintain the same geometry from the parent sketch, try inserting a derived sketch. It will update if you make any changes to the original sketch. Just pre-select sketch and plane, then, Insert, pull down menu, derived sketch.
