Setting PLC circuit direction

I'm trying to setup some standard default PLC drawing configuration settings and the Circuit direction setting doesn't seem to be working properly.  I go into the PLC drawing configuration menu and set the direction to "Right" for a PLC Digital Input:

The drawing example pane above shows the card on the right side of the drawing with the terminals on the left.  When I try to insert the PLC card into a drawing it inserts with the terminals on the right, backwards from the setting:

The PLC card is classified as a Digital PLC input type.  The configuration selection is set to the configuration I modified.  Can't figure this one out.  Maybe it's not supposed to do this at all, dunno...

I know I can just invert the terminals easy enough, but I thought setting the direction of the circuit type would set the way the card terminals are inserted.
