    Buoyancy simulation for deep sea floating/sinking assembly

      Hello guys!

       

      I'm a mech. eng. student interested in creating an assembly of parts similar to a star-fish which can fold and un-fold in order to change buoyancy as surface area parallel to ground changes.

      My question is, how can i use solidworks to create a virtual volume for known depth, increasing pressure with depth (creating a pressure field with a gradient change in Z axis for example), calculate and simulate buoyancy? Is that even possible to do as a continuum process or am I to aim low and go for snapshots of my assembly folding and unfolding at given angles of the unfolding process .. (tiring...)
