Hi
In the attched file I created a sketch (19) to execute cut-extrude2, I am wondering if there is a quicker way in achieving same result without having to draw the whole grid, i.e. using the pattern tool.
Thank you

Hello,
Attached is your model with the method I outlined before.
Cheers,
Kevin
Edit:
Also, in my first post I stated "extending mid-plane" in the sentence "Then model in one rib on center, extending mid-plane, with up to next,".
I should have typed "plane" instead of "mid-plane" since that's an end condition of the extrude and up to next (or up to surface) is required.
You do need a plane at the center of the cut cylindrical recess, aligned to your extrude direction, to sketch your rib.
Take a look at the attached file Mine.. I did a cut extrude from a single sketch of 4 entities (2 lines 2 arcs). Then patterned the cut extrude using the vary sketch option. It may not be exactly identical to yours since I didn't copy your dims exact but it is close. Every time I use the vary sketch I have to look it up in the help file since it is so infrequent. You might want to take a look at the help file.
Thank you both.
@Kevin Chandler
I hardly followed your suggestions, 'cause I am still very unfamiliar with the whole terminology, and Solidworks!
I was hoping to see it in action, but regardless of few downloads when trying to open it reports error with file, thus not opening it ... I guess I am doomed to not see what you meant ;(
@Dennis Bacon
I didn't even know what to look for in the help file! ... little by little ...
Hello,

Hello,
Try this:
Instead of making the cuts, cut the entire circular pocket in.
Then model in one rib on center, extending mid-plane, with up to next, to have the rib contact the pocket OD on both ends.
Then linear pattern this rib in both directions, normal to the rib, using pattern seed for direction 2.
I'm not in front of SW at the moment, so I can't put my model where my mouth is.
Cheers,
Kevin
