Why is my sketch plane green? This happens every time I open up the program to start a new project.
Looks like your default template for parts forces the planes to be shown. You should be able to start a new part, make the desired changes in the user environment, or in the tools\options menu, and then Save As and change the file type to Part Templates. Works the same for drawings and assemblies. Just make sure you hide the planes in the feature tree, not just turning them off in the View command.
I thought that was weird too. My planes now show as orange and I don't know how, because they used to be green.
You learn something new every day.
I didn't know that the front and back of planes showed as different colors.
The color can be changed in the Options menu. Also, I believe the default colors are both green and orange, having the green side as the "front" and the orange as "back".
I was always on the impression that the "Green" colored planes is from the front surface of the the plane or the direction of extrude, if you turn the model, you'll see the color change to red, which I take as the "Back" side of the plane...
Sorry I din't get back at this post. Thanks for the replies. I didn't realize you could change the color of the planes.
Here's the location for SW2015
I guess they do colors on both sides to be like pro/E (or the other way around...)
