Can't delete a reference dimension in an Assembly

    John Huntington

      I have this weird problem.

I created a reference Dimension in my Solidworks Assembly, to see how far apart 2 objects were.  I deleted one of the objects and it left my dimension dangling, and the color changed to the right color on dangling dimensions.  Now I can't delete that dimension.  I can select the dimension, edit it, move it, but I can't delete it.  When I select it, the grips don't highlight like they do on a normal dimension.

I tried to right click on the problem dimension and in the drop down box under select entities (dimension)   if I click select annotation view (top) it crashes Solidworks.

      I am on SW 2016 sp2
