Custom properties in BOM not displaying?

When I insert a BOM into a drawing, the custom properties previously defined in the assemby/part file do not show up. The only way I can make it work is to open each individual assembly/part file (where the custom property was originally defined) and then switch back to the drawing window and update the drawing. As you might expect, this takes ALOT of extra time. Is this problem caused by something I'm doing wrong, or has the new version screwed something up?

Has anyone else noticed this problem and figured out a better solution?

I know it seems like this is the first thing everyone jumps on, but, in your case, it really does sound like the drawing is updating, but the display isn't.
What video driver version are you using?

  I'm running driver version 9.1.3.6 driver date 7/12/2006.
  
  Maybe that's the problem. I'm downloading the latest driver right now.

    According to the Solidworks Graphics/Driver certification matrix:

    you want to be running driver 6.4.10.9185 dated 6/15/07
    I'm running the same driver version as you and I haven't noticed any problems, but, for truth, I haven't open Solidworks 2008 and really looked around for a couple of weeks.

      Ok. I just updated to driver version 6.14.11.6265 dated 10/29/2007 and it didn't fix it. But now, AutoCAD LT is acting wierd and slow.

      I'll try rolling back to the driver you mentioned and see if that works.

        I just realized that the referencing drawing view was loaded lightweight. I think it's fixed now.
