Anyone know what happened to the "select Bodies" section of the Relative View command in SW 2016 SP2?.. only the "Orientation" selections are available now
It's still there. "Entire Part" will be selected by default. You'll need to select "Selected Bodies" instead.
It used to be that simple but since the install of SP2 that option is not available on my machine and two others here as well...
The 'Scope' area of the Property Manager will only appear if the part is a multibody part. Did you inadvertently merge the model features?
I think I figured it out…what I didn't realize is that relative view responds differently to an assembly than it does to a fabrication. In a multi-component fabricated part I get the Selected Bodies option because it doesn't know which one of the parts I want. In an assembly it only wants to bring in the entire assembly so Selected Bodies is apparently irrelevant and therefore not select-able
I also discovered that in an assembly drawing I can bring an individual component into the drawing by selecting Model View and clicking on the specific part I want in the drawing and it will bring just that part in…who knew…
Jim may be right. The screenshot I posted above was from sp 2.0. And do you mind if I ask why you need it anyway? I don't remember ever using that function since the "Select Bodies" button was introduced (see #15 at Frequently Asked Forum Questions).
Relative View allows you to define how the part comes in to the drawing where using Model View brings the part in but it may not be in the right orientation. Now you have to create another view to get what is actually needed then delete the original, just seems a little more efficient to me to use Relative View....simply a personal preference.
If it's a personal preference I certainly understand. I rarely need a view that isn't one of the 7 standard built-ins, but I know everyone's situation is different.
