I am trying to delete the body on the outer edge of the extrusion but I can't select it without selecting the entire extrude. I've tried delete face but it doesn't fill in properly. Can someone suggest a way for me to separate the back and front side from of the extrude cut so that I can then delete it flush up to the rounded feature.Also, I've tried to indent it but I can never complete the command because I can't select a tool body region... any thoughts on why that is? Thanks

you might try using the delete face feature with the patch option checked.
I tried this but when the surface patched it was very uneven; but I figured out the issue, when I extruded the feature the merge results box was checked so once I deselected it I was able to use the intersect feature to cut it into sections then delete body. Thanks for the help!
