Hi Shadid yes from 2015 onwards it is supported but in order to achieve decent performance NVIDIA GRID card/s are required for hardware acceleration of the graphics.
You can see the list of supported platforms here, https://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/11168_ENU_HTML.htm
However note that supported in this case means "will install" for full support you need to check there is a supported driver, which you can see here Graphics Card Drivers | SOLIDWORKS
At the moment only the GRID K1 and K2 are tested, there are newer "tesla" cards supporting GRID 2.0 that can run more clients. We are currently testing an Dell R730 with a Tesla M60 card and Citrix Xenserver.
I will query with SOLIDWORKS if they are testing this soon (plus newer versions of Xen Server) . When i asked previously they said they test what the hardware/ software manufacturers supply them. That time i was querying whether VM ware was supported as a year back there was no supported driver and they said they just hadn't been provided with an test server with this on, obviously since then they have as this is now certified also.
Thank you for swift response Alan...
We are currently testing SW2015SP2.1 on xendesktop and notice the licences picked by user is not returned to pool even after login off the desktop. Have you noticed such incident in SNL?
Hi Shadid, no problem, I will ask our IT admin who has set up the trial if we have seen this on our setup.
have you got GRID or Tesla graphics cards in your setup by the way?
We got NVIDIA GRID K1 / 220.127.116.1108 ...
Hi Alan! Can you please follow up on this? How is the Tesla M60 performing? Driver issues? I did also ask further information from my VAR and I'm still waiting for the follow up on them.
