My 3D sketch has an association at both ends of my sketch which I have made to route a 1/4" tube. But when I try to exit the sketch, it shows it's not fully defined. I tried to give dimensions along the sketch path to no avail. I can't find a way to fully define it as I can in a part drawing. Can anyone help me?
The 3d Sketch can be a challenge to fully define, you need to add the "Along X" - "Along Y" or Along Z relations and if the line is on an angle etc then I have often used planes for additional angle dimensions to lock in the sketches.
What worked for me is to create a cube sketch prior to 3D sketching, which is why I setup my parts templates this way:

I am having the same problem. Even though I create solid relationships with other fixed entities SolidWorks behaves erratically (the fixed entities are mostly existing 2D sketches in this case, and yes, I'm positive that my Relations are rock solid). I have had some success by deleting equals relationships and replacing them with their own stand alone dimensions (plus a variety of other trial & error methods) to fully define my sketches but for the most part it has been a crapshoot. Sometimes I'll get a sketch to behave only to have it shown as "undefined" after a later subsequent rebuild. And there is not a single entity in said sketch that can be dragged or moved in any way. Frustrating.
I suppose I could try to live with the (-) undefined symbol on a few sketches but it is not right.
Other times I will try to define a spline handle as 'along x', tangent, collinear, parallel, or perp to a fully defined entity and SW screams "over-defined" when there is absolutely nothing to limit the spline handles direction or length in any way. Or other unrelated and already defined sketch entities will toggle to blue color. I also read somewhere on this forum (or maybe in the online help) an official SolidWorks statement that claimed that you can never repair an over-defined sketch by adding more relations. From some pretty extensive trial & error experimentation I can tell you that that is not a true statement.

Keith, your path may be fully defined but the location of the sketch itself may not be. Try giving some location from the origin or the std planes.

The only way I have been able to find is to place a fixed relation onto each line of your drawing. Sorry that it's not exactly the best solution, but this has been driving me nuts for a while now! Maybe someone else has a better solution?
