i'm using SW 16. when pack and go i find that after i unzip them the project is missing part files. Dose any bubbly have a fix for this?
You are probably already doing this but when you pack and go make sure you go from the highest level. i.e. Assembly or Assembly Drawing. Also if you want to make sure any part drawings are included as well make sure you have the check box for include drawings active.
i don't need any drawings to be included in the pack and go just the model
You don't need to include the drawings. I was just stating that if you were wanting drawings to do it that way. The best best is then to go from the Full Assembly. If for some reason you have parts that aren't all linked to one assembly but to a drawing you can go from the drawing to start the pack and go and then uncheck the box for the drawing so you only get the part/assembly files.
OK so i tried it both ways pack and go form the drawing and from the assembly. no good still missing parts
try folder hopping
What SP are you at?
the newest one Sp 2.0 i think?
you have to create a new folder, pack and go into that folder, when you open that assembly you will see most of the parts are in the new folder but some will still be located in the original folder. make another folder, pack and go into it, open the assembly, go to file, find references, this will show the path for all of the parts. I have found that at least two folders are needed to get all of the parts.
There should be a selection for "flattening" the folders to take care of that.
tried that and still no good. I'm still having trubel with a large assembly that has other big assembly in it and one of thous big assembly will just not going with the rest of them. i even did the folder hope thing, move the missing assembly in to the last folder and did a replace. after all that all the paths are pointing in the right folder. zipped and opened the file on a clean system and still missing that assembly.
try making the assembly virtual, this will break the link
