Am I just missing this? Are there settings somewhere that control the 'leader' length (#1 below) and 'jog' length (#2 below) for ordinate dimensions? Mine are way too long & I can't find a way to change them. Help? Thank you.
Click on the dimension and drag the square "handles" around until you get the result needed.
Click on the dimension to highlight it, then you can click on the little blue boxes and drag them pretty much wherever you want.
Thank you both, and sorry - I wasn't clear. I'm looking for a document setting so it defaults to the length I want. Does one exist?

Not in front of SW so bear with me...
Although this applies to "regular" dimensions, perhaps it will apply to your OP as well.
In Document Properties>Dimensions, adjust the bent leader length.
If it does work with ordinates, compare the affect on linear dims and if acceptable, save the value in your drawing templates.
If not, reset the value or close the drawing w/o saving so you don't affect linear dims.
